Music has been a part of Kathy’s life but really became a passion after performing in High School in a Top 40’s Song and Dance group. After feeling the rush of the music mixed with the crowd there has been no going back. She has made many miscellaneous private performances and has owned her own Karaoke business. As in all things she feels she has saved the best for last being allowed to be the lead Female vocalist for the band Stone Kold. Her musical interests very from Country, Rock, Classic Rock, Rhythm and Blues, to Gospel. In trying to figure out who her biggest musical inspiration is, there are so many famous men and women that have sang to her soul that she could not pick just a few, but she holds her band mates at the top of her list!
Roy started playing the guitar at age 13 and it has been his passion since. Born in Oklahoma you can guess that country music was a big part of his early musical experience. He moved to Southern California (Indio) in 1968 and was introduced to the Rock & Roll music he loves to play today. He is the remaining founding member of the band Stone Kold that was formed in 1991. He has played with several other bands in his long musical career but Stone Kold is his longest running venture. His musical background includes Rock, Country, Blues and Gospel. He has written and copywrited several songs that he may slip into the set list as the band plays. Although he appreciates the greats like Eric Clapton, BB King and Vince Gill, his main influences are “anyone” that can play the guitar. He feels you can learn something from everyone if you take the time to listen.
Military brat originally from Japan and lived throughout the U.S. before his family set roots in Hawaii, where Bob’s parents presented him with his first electric bass in 1967. Bob has lived in California since 1981. With the very much appreciated help of fellow budding musicians, the songs from great bands, and a parade of stereos with BASS, Bob has strived to keep any Bottom Feeders well nourished and help maintain the Pulse in The Groove. Influences: Leo Fender, Hendrix, Jack Bruce, JP Jones, Lee Dorman (Capt. Beyond), James Brown, JS Bach, to name a few, and all the other bass slingers out there – young, old and jammin’ in The Next World.
It was after enjoying the 1968 Cream Concert at the Memorial Auditorium that David knew he wanted to become a musician. He talked his parents into a guitar, formed a high school band with his friends and proceeded to rock out to Neil Young and CSN&Y tunes. After taking a long hiatus to get his masters, build a career, marry and help raise children, David got the itch to begin playing music again in 1996. He studied guitar with Ken Bellicci (Guitar Workshop) and Greg Pager (Northridge Music) before connecting with several local bands. His powerful vocals and innovative guitar playing ultimately led to becoming a member of the band Stone Kold in 2009. The music David enjoys listening to on his Ipod ranges from The Allman Brothers to ZZ Top and includes classic rock and hard rock, new country, alternative, jazz, R&B and funk. Influential guitarists that he’s been known to steal ideas from are Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Dickie Betts, BB King and Duane Allman.
Jerry has performed professionally since the mid-1970’s. He has been equally comfortable in a Jazz trio in Oklahoma, Country band in Pennsylvania, Blues band in Virginia and R&B and Rock bands in New Jersey and California. He is as talented on hand drums as he is on his vintage Ludwig and Slingerland drum sets. Jerry’s drumming is focused on producing tight, steady rhythms that make people want to dance and giving the audience the best show possible.
