Greetings, Rocker fans!  And welcome to Lynns Hangouts’ newsletter!  Thank you all for signing up so you can get a jump on exciting news!

Band News:

Straight Shooter became our 53rd band!  We are most happy to add this rock/country band to our lineup.  More details below.

Rod Simpkins joined The Mach 5 as their new bassist, replacing Dave Garrity.  Dave will be missed, but we do look forward to supporting Rod in The Mach 5.  Our first time seeing Rod will be LH Rockfest 2017!

Another note about Straight Shooter:  They had the honor of playing at Good Day Sacramento on Sunday, February 19th!  A big shout-out to the team – they did an AWESOME job!!!  We are very proud!

FM80 is now our 54th band!  The stars finally aligned allowing us to party and check out this awesome band!  Details about the band and decision to add them below.

Meeting Minutes:

February, being a short month, added nicely to our numbers.  By the close of February we had a cumulative total of 67,400 unique visitors to the website, and 401,000 page views!  You Tube views were almost 119,000.  New visitor sessions are steady at 50%, which continues to bring new fans to the live music scene!  Keep visiting LH often for more fun, and be part of these awesome stats!

We are so very grateful and thankful for every one of you who has made a donation to LH; whether direct, or through PayPal on the website!  Your contribution gives us encouragement and makes it possible to keep up the fast pace checking out the local live music scene here in the Sacramento area.  Thank you so much for supporting LH as we support this awesome group of talented musicians!  You are in our thoughts every day!

You are always welcome to come party with the LH team!  Just check for the “Join LH” on the Home page gig schedule next to the events we will be hanging out at!  We’d love to see you out supporting live music and become part of the group we hang out with!

If you go to a gig you saw on LH, please don’t be shy about telling the band!  I’m sure they would love to meet you as well as learn how you heard of their gig!

I want to take a moment to thank all the awesome peeps who hang with me at these venues – soaking up the fun, bonding with the bands, and touching my heart!  You all ROCK big time in my book!!!

February was a fun and entertaining month with our bands!  Here’s what happened:

2/3/17:  The Mach 5 was gigging at the Opera House Saloon in Roseville this evening with one difference.  It was Dave Garrity’s last performance with the team as their bassist.  We adore Dave and knew we had to help give him a proper send-off.  It was obvious the team enjoyed their time on stage, and it was equally obvious the fans enjoyed what came from the stage.  The Opera House was full and most fans stayed until the end.  It was a bittersweet time for us all.  We will miss Dave but hope he surfaces back in the Sacramento live music scene soon!

2/10/17:  Skid Roses was scheduled to rock the Opera House Saloon in Roseville this Friday evening.  After looking at our records, we noticed it had been October since we last saw this fun hair band, so we decided to spend the whole evening in their company.  Lots of LH friends had this fun evening on their agenda; the saloon had a pretty full house of peeps who loved to party!  The band seemed to feed from the fan energy, rockin’ all the songs like they owned them!  I got two great Fan Files of fans singing along into the mic, and having fun on the dance floor.  Not to mention the awesome Drum Off by Crash Von Bonham that really rocked!  And of course, Skid Roses always gives me at least one Tickle video per visit!  We stayed until the end and talked with some of the band wives on the way out.  Another great night of live music to reminiscence about!

2/11/17:  We were super excited to give Straight Shooter our full attention this evening at Referee’s Sports Bar & Grill in Citrus Heights for the simple fact we want them on LH!  Straight Shooter has a large following of fun-loving fans who can’t get enough of this band that does about 50/50 country and rock.  Their website says it best, “Are you a little bit country? Are you a little bit Rock and Roll?  Well then The Straight Shooter Band is just the band for you.”  Straight Shooter was as entertaining as ever; rockin’ all the hits, making the fans ‘do the dance’ on the floor!  And to top the night off, it just so happened to be the 3rd year anniversary for Ken and Nickole as bar owners!  Ken and Nickole came on stage to say a few words, and they even invited me up on stage to tell me how LH fit into their timing and strategy!  We all shared a shot of Fireball and lots of hugs, then it was back to the dance fun!  We are honored to say Straight Shooter is now our 53rd band!

2/17/17:  LH was off to check out another new band to the website at “The Sporty,” Elk Grove Sports Bar & Grill in Elk Grove.  FM80 was scheduled to rock the house this well-deserved Friday evening, and rock they did!  Their set list center’s around 80’s music that other cover bands don’t normally do.  We found their songs refreshing and fun to dance to!  The LH team had a little fun with the band at the end of ‘Centerfold’ which can be seen on LH as a Tickle video in the near future.  During a photo op on break, the band couldn’t resist having a little fun of their own, as seen below!  The fun fans stayed until the last song, and we ended the night by joining the band for breakfast at Denny’s, just because we didn’t want the fun to end!  With a good, fun band like FM80, how could we resist adding them to the LH lineup!  That’s right, FM80 is now our 54th band!

2/24/17:  Jan’s Lounge in Orangevale with Two20 seemed a logical choice for fun this Friday night, and we were not disappointed.  We arrived early to a full parking lot, and found once inside a large 40th birthday party was in full swing!  The great part is most of the birthday folks stayed for the band!  And speaking of Two20, they were spot-on with their entertainment quality!  On The Fly’s keyboardist, Val Dawang, and vocalist Tracy Butler showed up as fans to support the band and ended up on stage for a few fun songs!  We got the band to play a bit past 1 AM as it seemed no one wanted the fun to end.  A good sized crowd remained right up to the end.  We are calling this night a sweet success!

2/25/17:  Our Rebel Yell band doesn’t make it up to the Sacramento area often enough but tonight happened to land them at Halftime Bar & Grill in Strikes, Rocklin!  We packed up the car, spit-shined the dance shoes and headed out.  Rebel Yell pulled a great crowd of fun folks that made the dance floor the place to be!  Guitarist Doc Dibble was sitting in for Frank Hohl this particular night, so we made sure Doc felt the love Rebel Yell fans gave out!  The team is always so friendly, professional and precise, making for a sure-fire fun night!

February, even though short, still brought many opportunities to unite with fans and bands.  We are grateful to all the wonderful friends and fans that enjoy this amazing thing called live music in the greater Sacramento area.  We are also thankful to all the bands who put forth such a professional effort to make the fan experience so enjoyable.

March will bring more opportunities to add some new bands and party with some we don’t often see.  And don’t forget – LH Rockfest 2017 is the happening place to be on April 22nd at Halftime Bar & Grill in Strikes, Rocklin!  Five bands, 12 hours – you won’t want to miss this party!!

Until then, truly ROCK ON!  \m/
