Bassist Dave Garrity is leaving The Mach 5 in February. His last gig was February 3rd at the Opera House Saloon in Roseville. We wish Dave the very best ever and we hope to see him again soon!

I want to take a moment to thank all the cool peeps who hang with me at these venues – soaking up the fun, bonding with the bands, and touching my heart! You all ROCK big time in my book!!!
Live music in January 2017 started out with a bang! Here’s the scoop:
1/6/17: Bassist Kendall Volz has been chatting with me for quite some time, encouraging me to come to Power Play’s debut performance at Halftime Bar & Grill in Strikes, Rocklin. He explained how he hand-picked the performers and why, as well as the goals and Mission Statement behind this new band. Everything added up to a must-see performance, and we were not disappointed! Power Play is a 6-piece that really delivered on the high energy that kept the audience engaged right up to the “Uno Mas” call for one more! While a debut performance helps bands shake out the bugs, it was obvious Power Play has great potential as a dance band. The LH offer was extended and gladly accepted. We are excited to add Power Play to the LH lineup, bringing us back up to 50 bands!
1/7/17: It was double rock night, both important stops, nevertheless. First up, Legal Addiction’s debut performance at the Corner Pocket Sports Bar in Citrus Heights! The band had a great time entertaining a nearly packed house, I got a great Drum Off video, and we met a new live music fan – Dana! I think we got Dana hooked on the fun that can be had at live music venues! And a quick chat with Corner Pocket’s owner, Steve, yielded a big smile and thumbs up for Legal Addiction! He enjoyed their diverse set list and great sound! Couldn’t have asked for a more successful start to the night!
1/7/17: A quick zip in the car and we were at Referee’s Sports Bar & Grill in Citrus Heights with On The Fly! We walked in to find some of our favorite fans having a blast to the rock sounds we all love to hear! The band sounded great, and they even threw us some rockin’ Sammy Hagar tunes! The highlight of the evening was ‘Here I Go Again’ which can be seen under Recent Hangouts. Some of those favorite fans of ours made their way on stage to sing along! It was a perfect bonding moment between band and fans. We stayed until the band started loading out – our clue to head home, which we did with smiles on our faces!
1/13/17: We started this fun evening at The Trocadero in Roseville to party with NightShift because of our friend Thom Cervantes’ request. To our surprise, they had special guest, Steve Stizzo, on the Keys! Their lead vocalist was caught up in traffic so the rest of the band filled in with some blues numbers that were quite good! The fans filled the dance floor to let loose from the week’s commitments and seemed to have a great time! We couldn’t stay long because our next stop was the other side of town, so after an hour of fun we headed on to venue #2.
1/13/17: Our second venue of the evening took place at Louie’s Cocktail Lounge in Rancho Cordova with Radio Billionaires! Curt Blankenship (Two20, RCA), Barry Del Carlo (RCA, A-Train), and Tom Murphy (Straight Shooter) were all part of this fine band tonight, so we know the talent is there. Radio Billionaires has the addition of a fine sax player, Chris Tadina; and keyboardist, Greg Jones. Together they allow the band additional songs featuring these instruments. We always enjoy Louie’s as their architecture amplifies the acoustics in such a great way. It made dancing to songs we don’t often hear that much more fun! We felt the twist the band brings to the rock songs we love is just what LH needs, so after minimal discussion with Curt, Radio Billionaires is now our 51st band!
1/14/17: It was a very special night tonight as one of our bands had their debut at The Corner Pocket Sports Bar in Citrus Heights. The Mock Ups were planning on tearing up the place with their fun renditions on the classic hits – and they delivered! It seemed everyone showed up to support and have a great time. There were two special birthday celebrations as well, for Linda and Sue. Chocolate cake was devoured! Lead vocalist Miles French invited two awesome percussionists to sit behind the kit for a bit – Brian Machado and Dale Jenkins. Drum Off videos were taken! You can’t beat a night like this, placed directly into the memory books!
1/20/17: Another debut night for one of our bands, this time RCA debuted at Halftime Bar & Grill in Strikes, Rocklin! We are so proud of all these new beginnings for our bands and look forward to them playing at these fine venues many times in the future. RCA asked me to record a promo video for them tonight, so plans were made well in advance – angles, lights, what songs to record, who to video, pictures to take… so much prep, but well worth the effort! The place was packed and it was great to see so many of the LH team there to offer support to this fun band, which energized every song! Not to mention the energy lead vocalists Jae Pomp and Jennifer Moore give out, you can’t go wrong! The crowd had a great time, and the evening was a huge success. The team rocked Rocklin! Mama is proud!
1/27/17: Tonight we ventured out to Unlicensed Therapy at Jan’s Lounge in Orangevale. Lead vocalist Dana Caylor seemed to be on fire with extra energy in her voice and stage presence! When it was time for the Birthday Song, Dana ventured out into the audience to see what was happening and found some amusing antics. During her ‘Paris’ rendition, she ended the song on the floor! Look for both videos to air on LH in the near future – worth watching both to the end! Speaking of ends, the end of the evening came all too quickly. We were sad the fun was over, but looked forward to seeing this fine group of talent again in the future!
1/28/17: It was the last rock night of the month for us and we had been looking forward to seeing Take Out at Halftime Bar & Grill in Strikes, Rocklin, for quite some time per lead vocalist Angie Bryan’s continuous invite! We were quite impressed with the professionalism and precision the band had to offer, not to mention the fans were diggin’ the action! Seemed like a great combination of positives to invite them to LH! That said, Take Out is now our 52nd band! We stayed until load out, enjoying every second of great tunes and comradery! Another successful night, another successful month!
January seemed to whisk by in the blink of an eye, but we did get a good deal of rockin’ in! We enjoyed seeing new bands and adding them to the lineup, and we look forward to seeing them again soon! February will have us out and about doing more of the same, and we look forward to adding even more new bands for your live music pleasure!
Until then, truly ROCK ON! \m/
