We are looking forward to checking out a new project our good friend Curt Blankenship has in the works called RCA!  Stay tuned for gig details!

Meeting Minutes:

March website stats are heading upward.  As of the end of March, we had a cumulative total of over 51,000 unique visitors to the website; over 337,600 page views; and a cumulative total of over 91,000 video views on You Tube!  New visitor sessions were 42%.  Keep visiting LH often for more fun, and be part of these awesome stats!

We are so grateful and thankful for every one of you who has made a donation to LH!  Your contribution gives us encouragement and makes it possible to keep up the fast pace checking out the local live music scene here in the Sacramento area.  Thank you so much for supporting LH as we support this awesome group of talented folks!  You are in our thoughts every day!

You are always welcome to come party with the LH team!  Just check for the “Join LH” on the Home page gig schedule next to the events we will be hanging out at!  We’d love to see you out supporting live music, and the group we hang out with is growing every month with such fun folks!

If you go to a gig you saw on LH, please don’t be shy about telling the band!  I’m sure they would love to meet you as well as learn how you heard of their gig!

March was a fun month of rock.  There was plenty to do and see.  Here’s what happened in the LH world:

3/11/16:  Can you believe it’s been three months since we saw Four Barrel?  Where did the time go?  We knew we had to take the opportunity to check in with them while at Jan’s Lounge in Orangevale this slightly wet evening.  Lead guitarist, Phillip Lovejoy, had a new guitar to show off, and I have to say, it sounded superb!  Kally looked beautiful on stage, now a married woman, and sounded as sultry as ever!  The band showed off some new songs, to which the crowd reacted positively!  Nice stream of fans in and out all evening – lots of fun to put in the memory books!

3/12/16:  Tonight was a first for us – one of our bands’ first gig, which happened to take place at Halftime Bar & Grill in Strikes, Rocklin!  On The Fly, which is Angelo Dapello’s new project, produced a wonderful and entertaining evening of fun for a nicely crowded room of friends, family and fans!  Mark Ellenburg of Mr. Soundman was in charge of this crucial element.  Our hats off to Mark for his focus and diligence to the task at hand – the sound was excellent!  The team was fired up and full of energy, cranking out the rock all night long – even pushing the stop time by a few songs!  Angelo brought me up on stage to talk about LH and Rockfest 2016, then gave me flowers!  It was an incredible moment adding to an incredible night!  Success was written in On The Fly’s first page of their Book of Memories!

3/18/16:  Tonight was a very special night for our good friend, Heidi Perry, who wanted to celebrate life at Jan’s Lounge in Orangevale with Unlicensed Therapy.  Tonight was Heidi’s first night back on the dance floor after surgery, and she was feeling good!  She brought that attitude out in just about everyone that showed up!  We brought cupcakes and a poster board for folks to sign their good wishes to Heidi.  Unlicensed Therapy even learned ‘I Just Want To Celebrate’ for Heidi, to go along with the celebration theme – now that’s love!!  And it is true, Heidi is a very intricate part of the local music scene, very well known, and very loved!  Here’s to you, Heidi, for bringing a Top Shelf night!

3/19/16:  Double rock tonight!  First stop – Jan’s Lounge in Orangevale to check out Radio Billionaires!  This is a 5-piece band that digs playing the jazzy side of life, as well as 70’s tunes not often heard, like ‘Stuck In The Middle With You’ and ‘Dance To The Music’!  You might recognize some of the band members like Barry Del Carlo (A-Train and Two20) and Curtis Blankenship (Two20).  We did some dancing and really enjoyed our time with the band!

3/19/16:  Then it was off to Referee’s Sports Bar & Grill in Citrus Heights to get our disco fix with Disco Revolution!  When we arrived, the band was just heading back on stage after break so it was a perfect opportunity to grab some quick hugs and say a fast hello, then on to the entertainment!  So many fun friends and cool cats came out tonight to support this awesome band!  How can you help but not have a great time in a climate like this!

3/25/16:  Left Of Centre is back in town and we always try to go see them when they are.  They are rarely here, maybe 3-4 times a year, so if you can catch their show – do it!  Left Of Centre is the house band for Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill in Las Vegas.  They also play a lot in the Reno and Tahoe area.  The fans enjoyed the whole evening while Left Of Centre brought out the country, rock, fan requests, and current tunes.  The highlight of the evening was when they brought Virginia, a very talented fiddle player, up on stage to help out with Devil Went Down To Georgia.  All we can say is WOW!!  Watch the action on 6/1/16 under the Random Riffs From The Attic section!  Excellent evening of fun, friends and professional quality music!

3/26/16:  Rogue was rockin’ Rocklin again at the Halftime Bar & Grill in Strikes.  This is such a fantastic band, we sent out the ‘Team LH alert’ for all hands on deck to join us tonight!  Rogue will have been together 19 years this June, with the original team, so you can imagine how polished they are!  Everyone commented how good they were and how much they enjoyed the evening.  The place still had a busy air about it when the band wrapped up their last song, so an encore only seemed fitting.  They actually gave us a two-song encore!  What a wonderful way to wrap up the Easter weekend’s line up of live music!
