Riff Raff’s percussionist, Kevin Seymour, has joined Heartless! Tymber Cavasian is moving on to work on originals. We welcome Kevin to the team, and wish Tymber the best!
A-Train’s last gig was December 17th. We are sad to see this group of talented musician’s part ways, but hope to see them all soon in other bands. This brings our band count down to 51.

I want to take a moment to thank all the cool peeps who hang with me at the venues – soaking up the fun, bonding with the bands, growing friendships, and touching my heart! You all ROCK big time in my book!!!
Live music rocked our world in December! Here’s the scoop:
12/2/16: Unlicensed Therapy landed at Jan’s Lounge in Orangevale this wonderful evening, and listening to lead vocalist Dana Caylor is always a treat for us, so this visit became the To-Do List! Unlicensed Therapy met our expectations on the fun scale, with lots of our dance friends in attendance. We heard some new songs done well with lots of energy. We stayed the whole night soaking up the good times, and chatting with the band during load out. Big sigh – life is good!
12/3/16: Back to Jan’s Lounge in Orangevale for us, this time to party with The Mach 5 band! We always love the good times the boys bring to the table with their groovy songs and musical talent. More wonderful friends were there to support this awesome band, who seemed to have as much fun on stage as we did on the dance floor! We had a special birthday party to attend, so we could only stay one set. Next visit, we owe the band our full attention and all-night attendance!
12/3/16: Next we jetted off to Referee’s Sports Bar & Grill in Citrus Heights to celebrate good friend Danniel’s birthday with Straight Shooter. There was already a good sized crowd showing Danniel the love, and after making the “hello rounds” and kiss the birthday girl, we headed to the dance floor. This was our first time seeing Straight Shooter and we were diggin’ what was happening. They do about 50/50 country and classic rock, so our wheelhouse was satisfied. Lead vocalist Teri Alison was awesome as usual in the entertainment category pulling the fans into the action. I got a couple of great Drum Off videos of their very solid percussionist, Alex Baker. Even the bassist, Pete Rose, had a blast entertaining us with a few songs he sung. Super fun night – we will be back to party the whole night with Straight Shooter on February 11th. Already counting down!
12/9/16: It’s Friday night and we had the need for rock, so we opted for double rock! First stop, Halftime Bar & Grill in Strikes, Rocklin, with the awesome Journey’s Edge! A decent crowd gathered for the concert and enjoyed every song the band cranked out. The band gets into character with the clothes and wigs, adding to the authenticity. We met the sweetest, cutest older couple who could out swing dance most anyone, considering they were 73 and 84! I got a great Fan File video of them, as well as an awesome Drum Off of percussionist Steve Abshier. The first set seemed to fly by as we reminiscence these great Journey songs. But… it was time to move on.
12/9/16: So we jetted off to Jan’s Lounge in Orangevale to finish out the night with Four Barrel and wish good friend Keith a happy birthday! The party was in full swing when we got there, but it didn’t take long to make the greeting rounds, grab a refreshment and head to the dance floor. I’m still trying to figure out who had more fun – the band or the fans. It was a super successful evening in every sense of the word. The band threw us some new songs done well, as well as our classic favorites. Keith was asked up on stage to enjoy his birthday song, to which he proceeded to do his birthday dance. His sweetheart, Cindy, surprised him with a beautiful cake. Nights just don’t pack in the fun like tonight did!
12/10/16: Tonight was one of those nights we couldn’t wait for knowing RCA was at The Blarney Stone Irish Pub in Orangevale. The last couple of times we saw this band the fun was off the chain, so anticipation was high, and we were not disappointed! The place was packed with tons of fun friends who danced the whole night! The band was full of great energy, which seemed to feed both ways from band to fans and back. At one point in the evening, lead vocalist Jae Pompei took some of us outside and gave us RCA shirts!! Who does that?? So very generous and awesome, Jae!!! I also got a great Drum Off of Curtis Blankenship. We called for “uno mas,” one more song, and the band gave it, bringing both lead vocalists, Jennifer Moore and Jae Pompei, up on a table to sing together! What a great way to end an evening! We hung around during load out to chat with fans and band members, bringing this evening and the memory book to a close. Life truly is good!
12/16/16: The week felt long but Friday night was finally here! We always enjoy an early venue and tonight yielded just that with Legal Addiction at The Trocadero in Roseville. The fun started this night at 7 PM. The Troc is normally a 6-9 PM venue but was later tonight because of a Christmas party for the Roseville Union Pacific Railroad team. We arrived a bit early to enjoy chatting with the band and friends, and found The Troc to be hopping with lots of festive fun! The band was hitting on all cylinders tonight as they entertained in rockin’ fashion. They even threw in a few Christmas tunes that had everyone smiling and dancing! It was a successful and great evening!
12/17/16: Tonight we again caught the crazy train of double rock! First stop was Departure at Corner Pocket Sports Bar in Citrus Heights. Departure has some new team members as well, so we looked forward to welcoming Steve Cain (The Tone Monkeys) as their new percussionist; and welcoming back Andy Gomez and Chris Golsow on lead guitar and keys. We were able to chat with most of the team before they took the stage, which is always a bonus! Lead vocalist Frank House was up to his usual spot-on vocals, which rocked The Pocket! We had a great time chatting with friends, grabbing videos and snapping pictures, but after a set it was time to head to stop #2.
12/17/16: With heavy hearts we headed to Jan’s Lounge in Orangevale for A-Train’s last performance. We are sad to see this band break up after 12 amazing years. It seemed everyone who knew A-Train came out to show support and wish them well. They did a great job putting on their last show, caving to the infamous “uno mas” – one more song – at the end. A-Train was such a talented group of musicians that took the band to a level of professionalism not often seen in a cover band. As a team they will be missed, but our hope is to see each one of them out in other projects very soon!
12/31/16: LH took a much needed week off to rest, catch up and get ready for the New Year!
Whatever you did for New Year’s Eve, I hope it included some live music, lots of good friends and family, food and dance! What a wonderful year. Blessings to you all!
January will ring in some more new bands to LH in hopes of continuing to bring you the best and most sought after cover and tribute bands in the Sacramento region. It’s going to be a stellar year!
We are so thankful to each of you as our friendships together grow, and we are excited for all the new friends we will make in 2017! We are looking forward to a happy and healthy year, and seeing you all out at live music. Until then, truly ROCK ON! \m/
