Housekeeping Items:

‘The Remedies’ officially broke up.  A new band has been started with some of the members called ‘Network 17’.  Their first gig is 5/17/14 at Arden Park’s Concert In The Park Series, from 7-10 PM.  If you get a chance to go, tell them you heard about it on LH!

If you want to know where LH will be partying any Friday, Saturday or Sunday, check the Twitter feed on the right-hand side of LH for details and come join us!  We’d love to make you our friend and see you out supporting live music!

I hope you are enjoying the new feature ‘Categories’ on the right-hand side of the website so you can see all the fun videos posted from the inception of LH!

I am excited to report March’s website stats were healthy…again!  As of the end of March we saw a cumulative total of well over 17,000 visitors and almost 215,000 page views!  Keep visiting LH often for more fun, and be part of these awesome stats!

I also want to take this moment to thank everyone who has made a donation to LH!  Your contribution is greatly appreciated and gives encouragement to keep up the fast pace!  The local live music scene here in the Sacramento area is constantly evolving, and we strive to keep you updated on the local talent!  Thank you again for supporting LH, as we support this awesome group of talented folks!

Let’s take a trip back in time to see how March rocked it:

3/1/14:  First stop back to Strikes Halftime Bar & Grill in Rocklin to party with The Mach 5!  It had been way too long since we’ve seen this awesome band, and they lived up to our expectations – awesome!!  The dance floor was packed on the second song and didn’t stop all night!  A very cute wedding couple received a special song – Marry You – practiced just for them!  It was great to get a Mach-5 fix under our belts!  Can you spell s-a-t-i-s-f-a-c-t-i-o-n!!

3/14/14:  Tonight’s party was with Category 4 at Jan’s Lounge in Orangevale.  Upon arrival, the percussionist, Mark Coudriet, was outside loading in and recognized me right off, which was cool as I had only partied with then one other time when I asked them to join LH!  The rest of the band was just as friendly!  They were having a live audition with Angelo Giovanni Dapello.  It was great to meet Angelo, who is a very nice gentleman, and awesome guitarist and vocalist!  (He got the job!!)  Tracy Butler of Red Radio fame and Teri Alison of Unlicensed Therapy fame both came to the party!  I snagged an excellent interview with Tracy, to air in April!  I mentioned to the band that the Recent Hangouts video I posted from my last visit with them was the most looked at video for a two-week period!  Folks really love this band!

3/15/14:  Sometimes I wonder what I’m thinking and at the beginning of the day when attempting triple rock.  That thought had crossed my mind today.  But by the end of the night, I was very glad I was able to see these awesome bands!  First up – Swabbies (Yay) to see Mike Barnes’ new band, Sweet Lucy!  The weather was in the 80’s and it was so great to see all our Swabbies friends again!  Mike has hired some pretty awesome talent for this band, and rumor has it there is now a female vocalist!  Stay tuned…      We stayed until 5 PM, than jetted home for some chow and a “quick change…artist.”  (There’s a song for everything, right!!)

We made it to The Country Club Saloon in Loomis shortly after 8 PM and Four Barrel was about to set up.  This was Four Barrel’s first time at the Saloon, so to make it special we brought bead necklaces!  The fans instantly snapped them up.   It was great to see fans still wearing them four hours later!  It was a super night of rock for Country Club, Four Barrel and all the fans who packed the dance floor song after song.

To fulfill a promise of support made a couple of months ago to my good friend Tommy King of Rockin’ Down The Hiway, we jetted over to The Valley (Thunder Valley) shortly after midnight!  They were doing a set of Doobie Brothers hits, and doing them well!  We had fun dancing with the crowd, and I was able to film ‘Jesus Is Just Alright’ for their Recent Hangouts’ video!  The party ended shortly after 1 AM, so with light and happy hearts and smiles on our faces, we called it a day!  I would like to challenge anyone to come do double or triple rock with us and see how fun it is!

3/21/14:  My sweet friend Melissa Nunley is in a couple of fun bands; Take Out and Nunchuck Taylor.  I wanted to surprise her one evening by showing up at Strikes Halftime Bar & Grill in Rocklin to see Nunchuck Taylor!  She was surprised and excited we were there!  She pointed out a couple of the team members who were busy setting up, as well as a dear friend to the band, Paul Munsterman!  Paul gave me one of his business cards and I found out he is in the business of making music videos!  But back to Nunchuck Taylor…I have to find out how they named this band!  They were awesome fun with oodles of energy and a great sound that had the crowd up off their chairs and on their feet doing ‘da dance!  Their song list included more late 90’s and 2000’s, which doesn’t quite fit the Mission Statement of what LH is, so I passed on adding them to the website, but do plan on partying with them when we can!

3/22/14:  It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Swabbies On The River; one of our favorite places to hang out in good weather.  The trees were leafing out just enough to provide shade to all the live music fans that showed up for Cats Barking & Riff Raff.  In fact, it turned into quite the party!  First off, Cats Barking did a phenomenal job!  Darryl, Lance and Bob are three of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, not to mention the incredible musical talent they possess!  I could watch them for hours!

Next up was Riff Raff, our AC/DC Tribute band!  Riff Raff and Swabbies seem to go hand-in-hand.  The crowd was awesome and really diggin’ the dose of AC/DC tunes!  Dave Chapman (aka Angus Young) was thrilling the audience with his usual antics, one of which posted on LH under Random Riffs on 4/16/14! I also got a great Fan File video from behind the band looking out at the sea of fans, which posted on 4/9/14.  From this angle, it’s clear to see why musicians love what they do!

And as if that wasn’t enough, I attempted triple rock…AGAIN!  We jetted up to Strikes for a short party with Apple Z!  The band was more polished than ever with their cool, suave style!  We danced a couple of songs, but when I went to set up for a Recent Hangouts video, my camera battery ran out of wind shortly into the song!  I guess it’s true when fans tell me I’m like the energizer bunny – apparently I can out-last batteries!  Apple Z – I owe you one!

3/23/14:  Fourth Sunday of the month, just like clockwork, you can find LH presence at Laugh’s Unlimited in Old Sacramento with Four Barrel!  The band was finishing up a 3-day weekend of rockin’ but appeared just as fresh as ever!  Must be because they enjoy rockin’ so much!  They were diggin’ the fans and the fans were diggin’ them!  There were plenty of smiles, hugs and great tunes all around!  You know, the usual awesome party that Skip Cappawana hosts!  Please keep in mind Laugh’s is hosting numerous live music events in May when the Sacramento Music Festival rolls into town!  Be sure to check out Laugh’s schedule for all the bands, or Lynns Hangouts to see which of our bands will be part of this awesome yearly event!

3/28/14:  Last time we saw Superlicious it was at the Ed Dorado Saloon in El Dorado Hills over a year ago.  So when we heard Strikes Halftime Bar & Grill in Rocklin was hosting Superlicious, the excitement boiled!  This is one cool and professional band!  They dress in the 80’s garb – complete with wigs, choreograph their dance moves, and they have a great lighting experience!  Ray Cadena, one of the lead vocalists, even plays the sax in a couple of songs!  A cool fan experience happened when they pulled a bunch of us dancers up on stage and called us their Superlicious Dancers!  The evening went so fast – a good measure on the Fun Scale!

3/29/14: It was a Strikes Halftime Bar & Grill in Rocklin kind of weekend!  We went back this evening to party with our good friends, Rebel Yell!  We had so much fun!  Loved the tunes, loved the vocals from Sonya, loved Miro’s funny antics, Paul’s awesome bass, Jimmy’s pounding beat, and Frank’s commanding guitar performance!  I got a great ‘Tickles, Tidbits & Trivia’ video of Frank’s wardrobe coordination – you won’t believe what he coordinates!  Check it out on 4/23/14!  I also got one of the best interviews with Sonya Distel – she is such a sweetheart, and a beautiful and fascinating woman!  Jimmy’s Drum Off video came out amazing, as well!  Epic evening of fun!

That wraps up the third month of a new year!  It is so true when said time flies when you’re having fun!  Come join us in April and see what direction the wind blows LH!  One thing for certain – it will be a rockin’ good direction!

Till then, ROCK ON!  \m/
